Materials used: birdcage netting, hair comb, ribbons, thread & needle and crystal gems. I followed the instructions from a few YouTube videos such as Michaels arts and crafts youtube channel.

Last Minute Bridal Shower Planning... continued.

This is a continuted post from my Last Minute Bridal Shower Planning.

The Food.

Once again I only had under 17 hours to plan this bridal shower by myself. If I had more time I would have baked the cake myself and made the mini cheesecakes from scratch. To me this was just finger food because the Bride had planned a hot pot dinner for the bridal party meeting, unfortunately they did not end up eating hot pot. lol

Last Minute Bridal Shower Planning.. continued.

This is a continuted post from my Last Minute Bridal Shower Planning ....

The Bridal Shower Games I planned were:

-Toilet paper wedding dress game - this is where you need toilet paper, tape & a model to make a wedding dress. Divide everyone into teams then the bride picks the best dress. Some models like to do the catwalk to show off the dress, others like to explain the details on the dress.

- Wedding pictionary- this is where you need wedding words, a cup, paper, pen & a timer. I printed out wedding words (veil/dress/ceremony/tuxedo etc), cut them out into strips then folded them and placed them into a cup. Everyone is divided into teams. One person picks a word to draw and that persons team has 30 seconds to guess what the drawing is. Then the other team plays. Whoever's team can guess in the shortest amount of time wins.

- Pin the penis on the muscle man groom - this one is funny, if there aren't any parents around. This is just like pin the tail on the donkey. Things you need: Picture of a muscle man, the groom, penis cut outs, tape, & a blindfold. Print out a picture of a muscle man (or whatever floats your boat) and the groom. Cut out the groom's head and glue it on top of the body. Cut out penis shapes. Make sure there`s enough for everyone. Place double sided tape onto the penis cut outs.  Blindfold the person playing and spin them around then they have to stick the penis cut outs where ever their intuition tells them. LOL.

The penis cut outs are very pointy because I was rushed to make them. :)

Last Minute Bridal Shower Planning (Under 17hrs)

I had less than 17 hours to plan a Bridal Shower for my soon to be sister-in-law by myself.

So What Happened?
The bridal party had a very hectic lifestyle so they all didn't have time to plan the bride's bridal shower or stagette so I stepped in.

On Friday December 14th the Bride & Groom had a Jack & Jill Stag/Stagette together. To me, I felt that the bride needed to have her own party. Every bride needs to have a bridal shower to make her feel special before her wedding day (December 22, 2012). The next day (Saturday Dec 15th) I asked my brother in law to give me the bridal parties contact numbers so he gave me their emails. Since I knew that everyone was busy I asked him when the next bridal party meeting was. It was on Monday! I had less than 17 hours to plan this Bridal Shower. I wanted it to be a surpirse so my brother in law gave me the keys to his apartment where the meeting was being held that Monday night.

On Sunday night (Dec 16), I gathered information on the brides favorite things and made a list of things to cook, buy, deocorate & games to play. The bride's favorite colors were yellow and light green so I wanted to stick with that color theme. I also spent the night making decorations & Bridal Shower games to play.

My Messy List

I made a banner from Vancitybrides tutorial http://vancitybride.com/blog/decor/diy-banner.html

I spent Monday morning driving around town for groceries, cake & decorations.
The helium filled balloons, Bride to be sash & crown, light yellow paper plates & cups were all from Party Bazaar (Vancouver).

Then I spent the afternoon cooking & preparing for the bridal shower!

to be continued....
